About Alight
Overview
Alight (formerly the American Refugee Committee) is an entrepreneurial humanitarian organization dedicated to building meaningful lives for and with the displaced. We reject the traditional 'beneficiary' model in favor of co-creation, ensuring that our customers' lived experiences, insights, and aspirations guide our programs. Our work spans emergency response, health, clean water, shelter, and economic empowerment, all designed to move individuals from vulnerability to resilience and joy.
Mission
Alight exists to walk alongside those who are on the arduous journey of displacement, helping them build lives of joy, dignity, and purpose.

We prioritize the dignity and well-being of the people we serve, operating on principles of radical accountability, abundance, and democratic co-design to foster continuous improvement.
