About Babies and Mothers Alive Foundation (BAMA)
Overview
Babies and Mothers Alive Foundation (BAMA) is a Ugandan-led NGO founded in 2004. Our mission is to create partnerships that transform the quality of reproductive, maternal, and newborn health in Uganda. We work hand in hand with the Ministry of Health in Uganda, district local governments, local communities, and other partners to co-design and implement sustainable, evidence-based interventions. Our collaborative approach focuses on strengthening health systems, building local capacity, and addressing the social and structural barriers that contribute to preventable maternal and newborn deaths.
