Description (Public)
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Receive patients, register admissions, discharges and deaths
- Provide treatment to patients
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment for patients
- Prepare and carry out sterile procedures and dispose of medical waste
- Participate in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the caring team
- Participate in doctors' and Clinical Officers' ward rounds
- Prepare patients for meals and sensitise them on the recommended diet
- Impart knowledge and skills to health support staff and trainees
- Compile daily ward reports and hand them over to the incoming shift leader
- Manage and account for allocated resources
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must be trained at registered level from a recognised Nursing Training Institution
- Must be registered and licensed with the Nurses and Midwives Council
