Accountant (2 Positions)New!

• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
• Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with the established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department
• Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating and entering transactions
• Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Coordinate semi-annual audits and assist the CFO with conducting audits
• Conduct regular ledger maintenance
• Prepare budget forecasts
• Prepare and file statutory tax returns
• Undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from a recognized institution
• Professional qualification: CPA Level 2 or 3
• 2-4 years of working experience in a busy work environment
• Experience with computerized ledger systems
• Must be a resident of Mbarara or the western region

Skills & Competencies:

• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Familiarity with SAP Business One
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
• Fluency in Runyankole and other western Uganda languages is an added advantage
