Accountant - Inventory

• Reconcile the Fixed Asset Register to the General Ledger, breaking down major asset categories into cost, depreciation and net book value
• Post all invoices in the ERP system with accurate capture of description, class, cost and depreciation rate for capex items
• Plan and schedule inventory checks, counts, asset verification and tagging exercises in liaison with stakeholders, and follow up on variances
• Review inventory adjustment requests for merit and ensure proper approvals before adjustment
• Review inventory disposals monthly and retire assets from the register per IFRS
• Compute and run monthly depreciation per asset group ensuring correct accounting entries per IFRS
• Ensure subsidiary ledger-to-GL reconciliation of fixed assets and stock control balances before every monthly closing
• Monitor all stock in transit and follow up with stock controllers for timely clearance
• Participate in periodic internal and annual statutory audits
• Analyze monthly inventory reports and provide insights to help optimize stock levels and reduce holding costs

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• CPA II
• 4 years of general accounting experience in a busy accounting department

• Good command of accounting principles and IFRS
• Strong accuracy, organization and stakeholder management skills
• ERP system experience
