AI & Machine Learning Specialist, DART

• Support development of an MOH-owned AI implementation framework with use-case intake, risk classification, and validation criteria
• Design, develop, validate, and document approved AI use cases including data-entry anomaly detection and acoustic screening
• Work with data engineering, interoperability, and cybersecurity teams to ensure AI uses approved data sources
• Develop model testing, bias assessment, performance monitoring, and retraining procedures
• Ensure human oversight, auditability, and privacy protection in AI-enabled tools
• Support user testing, workflow integration, and post-deployment monitoring
• Document technical methods, model limitations, and validation evidence
• Build capacity of MOH and Ugandan technical teams in responsible AI practices

Qualifications & Experience:

• Master's degree in data science, computer science, AI, statistics, or related field
• At least 5 years of experience developing and deploying ML models in production
• Experience with Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, model deployment, and MLOps practices

Skills & Competencies:

• Experience with health data, NLP, computer vision, or acoustic analysis is preferred
• Understanding of responsible AI, bias assessment, and model governance
• Professional fluency in English
