• Carry out routine animal health inspections, treatment and vaccination in the district
• Support disease surveillance, control and reporting activities
• Provide extension services and advice to livestock farmers on animal husbandry practices
• Assist in the implementation of veterinary and animal production programs and projects
• Maintain accurate records of animal health interventions and disease outbreaks
• Support the Principal Veterinary Officer in the day-to-day running of the veterinary function

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma in Animal Health/Production, Veterinary Medicine or a related field from a recognized institution
• Registration with the relevant professional veterinary body in Uganda
• Relevant working experience in animal health or veterinary extension services is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies:

• Good communication and community engagement skills
• Practical skills in animal handling, diagnosis and treatment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in rural settings
• Good record-keeping and reporting skills
