Collections & Receivables Officer (Field)

Kingdom Trading Limited, a supplier to supermarket partners, is looking for a firm, organised and trustworthy Collections & Receivables Officer to follow up overdue accounts and bring payments in while keeping customer relationships strong. This is a field role: the officer spends most of the week visiting client supermarkets, securing payment commitments, agreeing repayment plans and getting overdue accounts cleared, then recording and reporting every collection accurately. The role offers a basic salary plus performance commission, with transport support for field work and clear monthly targets.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Follow up overdue invoices in person, by phone and by email
Secure payment commitments and negotiate realistic repayment plans
Collect payments and report them to the accounts team the same day
Reconcile customer accounts and resolve payment discrepancies
Keep accurate visit and collection records
Prepare weekly outstanding balance and recovery reports

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Senior Six (UACE) minimum; a diploma or degree in Accounting, Business or a related field is an added advantage
1-2 years in debt collection, credit control, sales or field follow-ups (strong exposure with the right attitude will be considered)
Valid motorcycle riding permit (required); a car driving licence is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies:

Strong negotiation skills; firm, professional and respectful
Comfortable reading customer statements and reconciling balances
Comfortable with Excel or Sheets, mobile money, and AI tools to draft messages or summarise accounts
Good knowledge of Kampala routes; local language skills are an advantage
Honest, organised, results-driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision
