Credit Officer (2 Positions)

• Appraise loan applications through client interviews, business assessment and due diligence
• Verify client identification, addresses and business records under KYC requirements
• Prepare loan appraisal reports and recommend limits to the credit committee
• Facilitate loan disbursements and ensure proper documentation and security perfection
• Monitor the assigned portfolio for arrears and early warning signs of default
• Follow up overdue accounts and negotiate repayment plans with clients
• Maintain accurate credit records and submit portfolio and recovery reports

Mackenzie Microfinance Limited is recruiting two Credit Officers to appraise loan applications, manage the credit portfolio and drive collections.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Appraise loan applications through client interviews, business assessment and due diligence
• Verify client identification, addresses and business records under KYC requirements
• Prepare loan appraisal reports and recommend limits to the credit committee
• Facilitate loan disbursements and ensure proper documentation and security perfection
• Monitor the assigned portfolio for arrears and early warning signs of default
• Follow up overdue accounts and negotiate repayment plans with clients
• Maintain accurate credit records and submit portfolio and recovery reports

Qualifications & Experience:

• University degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or Microfinance
• Experience in credit appraisal, lending or collections is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies:

• Credit analysis and risk assessment skills
• Negotiation and collections ability
• Field mobility and customer engagement
• Attention to detail in documentation
