Hoima District Local Government is recruiting a Deputy Headteacher to fill a vacant position on a replacement basis in a government school within the district, deputizing the Headteacher in the day-to-day academic and administrative management of the school.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Deputize the Headteacher in the overall academic and administrative management of the school
- Supervise teaching staff and monitor curriculum delivery and lesson planning
- Oversee students' discipline, welfare and academic performance
- Coordinate timetabling, examinations and co-curricular activities
- Support the Headteacher in staff appraisal, mentoring and professional development
- Liaise with parents, School Management Committee and the community on school matters
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a Diploma in Education from a recognized institution
- Registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports as a teacher
- Relevant teaching experience with demonstrated leadership ability in a school setting
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of the school curriculum and education management guidelines
- Ability to maintain discipline and foster a positive learning environment
