Hoima District Local Government is recruiting a District Community Development Officer to fill a vacant position on a replacement basis, providing leadership in the planning, coordination and implementation of community development programs across the district.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and supervise community development programs and services across the district
- Provide technical guidance to sub-county community development staff
- Mobilize and empower communities to participate in local government development initiatives
- Oversee gender, youth, disability and social protection programs within the district
- Prepare work plans, budgets and reports for the Community Based Services department
- Liaise with the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development and development partners on community development matters
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work and Social Administration, Community Development, Development Studies or a related field from a recognized institution
- Substantial relevant working experience in community development within the public service
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Good community mobilization and facilitation skills
- Excellent planning, coordination and report-writing skills
- Ability to work with local government structures, NGOs and development partners
