Finance Officer

Ideon Limited is a microfinance and financial services business. The Finance Officer maintains accurate financial records, reconciles accounts, monitors loan transactions, supports budgeting and cash-flow management and ensures compliance with accounting standards and tax requirements.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly financial reports
Reconcile bank accounts, cash transactions, general ledgers and loan accounts
Monitor loan disbursements, repayments, interest and related transactions
Support budgeting, cash-flow management and expense monitoring
Manage accounts payable and receivable and track operational expenses
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements and regulations
Assist with internal and external audits and maintain financial documentation
Monitor internal controls, identify discrepancies and report to management

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field
CPA Part II or equivalent professional accounting qualification
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting
Experience in microfinance, financial services or lending is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Understanding of loan portfolio accounting, reconciliations and financial controls
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or financial management systems
Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail, accuracy and integrity
Able to work independently and meet strict reporting deadlines
