Description (Public)

The African Builders Program allows you to prepare for careers in Finance and Management Control, at the heart of road, hydraulic and civil engineering projects across the African continent. Hired on a permanent contract, you will experience several roles within the Finance function: Year 1 covers accounts receivable and accounts payable, treasury, taxation, management control, and human resources (Country 1); Year 2 is site management controlling (Country 2); Year 3 is advanced training (Country 3). Regional Directors will sponsor and support you at every stage, and mentors will ensure your integration and skills development within the agency or in the field.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Take part in the 3-year African Builders Program, rotating through several assignments in Finance and Management Control across different African countries.
  • Year 1: Introduction to the fields of accounts receivable and accounts payable, treasury, taxation, management control, and human resources (Country 1).
  • Year 2: Site management controller (Country 2).
  • Year 3: Advanced training (Country 3).
  • Act as a trusted partner of site managers, working autonomously and ensuring the application of Sogea-Satom standards in terms of safety, financial performance and contractual compliance.
  • Develop the skills to manage the administrative, accounting and financial aspects of a large-scale project, or to join the administrative and financial department of an agency.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

  • You will graduate with a Master's degree (business school or university) in management in 2026 and are looking for your first permanent position.
  • Ideally you have some initial experience (internship and/or apprenticeship) in a consulting firm or company within the construction sector.
  • This offer is only available to recent graduates.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Mandatory full geographical mobility at the end of each period on the African continent — in 3 years you will have 3 different geographical assignments and several job roles.
  • Strong adaptability and a proactive approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills — you will be in daily contact with site and agency teams, your Agency Manager, the client, headquarters and other graduates.
  • A passion for teamwork: essential, as you will never work alone.
