Infrastructure and WASH Engineer

• Provide technical leadership, operational support and strategic guidance for infrastructure and WASH projects, ensuring projects meet applicable national and international engineering standards, SPHERE Standards and World Vision WASH standards
• Provide technical support for contractor procurement, including preparation and review of technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and tender documents
• Lead the development and facilitation of an Infrastructure Technical Community of Practice to promote learning and share best practices
• Provide technical backstopping to projects, including review of SOPs, implementation approaches, program reports and donor deliverables
• Ensure infrastructure planning, design, implementation and monitoring tools, guidelines and procedures are developed, disseminated and effectively utilized
• Support Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning teams to strengthen learning and use evidence to inform current and future infrastructure programming
• Ensure GEDSI, child and adult safeguarding is mainstreamed throughout infrastructure and WASH projects
• Develop Terms of Reference for consultants undertaking feasibility studies, designs, supervision and evaluation of engineering projects
• Support the development and review of technical designs, drawings, BOQs, technical reports and other engineering documentation
• Participate as a co-opted member of the Procurement Committee, providing technical guidance on infrastructure-related procurements
• Support the processes of obtaining approval of designs and BOQs from relevant government authorities and ensure completed projects are approved
• Contribute technical information and data to the development and review of quality funding proposals

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering or a related engineering field (per advert requirements)
• Experience in infrastructure and WASH project design, implementation and supervision, including BOQ and tender document preparation
• Fixed-term local national position based at the National Office in Kampala
