Key Stage 3 English and Literature Teacher

• Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable
• Plan and execute appropriate activities for the children each day according to the curriculum, schemes of work and lesson plans
• Develop, review and update schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the school curriculum
• Set assessments for subject areas and topics when requested
• Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students' varying needs and interests
• Observe and evaluate each child's progress and provide written reports to school leaders and parents
• Establish and enforce rules for behaviour and procedures to maintain order among students
• Plan and supervise class projects, field trips and other experiential activities
• Attend professional meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence

Qualifications & Experience:

• TSC (Teachers Service Commission) certificate
• A relevant degree in Education / P1 Diploma / P1 Certificate
• 3+ years of teaching experience
• Previous training, qualification or experience in teaching the Cambridge curriculum is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies:

• Experience preparing learners for Year 9 Checkpoint and Year 11 IGCSE exams is an added advantage
• Good working skills with technology such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• A great communicator with clear and effective written and verbal communication
• Flexible and open to change; a proactive problem solver
• Background as a Cambridge Examiner is highly advantageous
