Laboratory Assistant (Post Mortem Attendant)Expiring Soon!

• Clean and disinfect the post-mortem tables and floor on which the post-mortem examination is performed
• Clean and disinfect the equipment after use
• Prepare and arrange the tools used in the post-mortem examination
• Maintain the equipment and instruments used in the PM house
• Receive carcasses for post-mortem examination and maintain case logs
• Assist during the prosection (dissection) of carcasses
• Dispose of the remains of the carcasses by incineration and empty the incinerator
• Assist the pathologists and technologist with curation and archiving of teaching specimens
• Assist with the preparation of practicals and practical examinations
• Work with the Sanitary Assistant to keep the whole environment clean and free of vermin, cobwebs and other waste
• Assist students to carry out their assignments within the premises

Qualifications & Experience:

• Uganda Certificate of Education
• At least a credit in science subjects

Skills & Competencies:

• Ability to work in a laboratory and post-mortem environment
• Reliability and attention to hygiene and safety
