We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Officer to support our recovery, compliance and corporate legal needs.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Recovery & Enforcement:
- Ensure effective recovery of assets and enforce security within the law.
- Send demand letters and follow up on overdue accounts.
- File and manage recovery suits and execution processes.
- Enforce security over financed motorcycles.
- Instruct and supervise bailiffs and external counsel.
- Ensure all recovery practices comply with Ugandan law.
- Provide legal support and ensure proper governance and compliance.
- Draft and review MOUs, dealer and vendor contracts.
- Prepare and review loan and security documents and company policies.
- Draft board resolutions and minutes.
- Handle company-secretarial filings with URSB and licence matters with UMRA.
- Advise management and the Board on legal risks.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
- Qualified lawyer.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Passion for business.
