Machine and Fork Lift Operator

NFT Consults is recruiting a Machine and Fork Lift Operator for its client in the Energy sector. The operator will be in charge of stores loading and offloading equipment for incoming and outgoing goods at the facility, responsible for maintaining workflow by preparing orders for shipment, storing materials, assisting in inventory, and safely handling and transporting items. The role reports directly to the Stores Officer.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Operate stores loading and offloading equipment to facilitate stock movement as instructed by the Stores Officer - Central Stores and in line with inventory management policies and procedures
Abide by health and safety standards in operating equipment
Identify and report any stock damaged during the loading or offloading process to the Stores Officer - Central Stores
Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Valid permit to operate Class F, G and H vehicles
At least 1 year of experience operating machinery and equipment in a stores environment
Basic computer literacy
Knowledge of safety standards in operating machinery and equipment

Skills & Competencies:

Good time management and organization skills
Ability to identify and address simple technical matters
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively across different levels within the organisation
Excellent problem-solving skills
