Manager, Legal, Regulatory & Risk

• Provide strategic legal advice to leadership and all business units on commercial, regulatory, employment and operational matters
• Interpret laws and regulations impacting the business and advise on implications for current and future operations
• Oversee the drafting, reviewing, negotiation and standardization of commercial contracts and agreements
• Ensure the company complies with all applicable laws, sector regulations and government requirements (e.g. Companies Act, NTSA, KRA)
• Maintain and update statutory registers, corporate filings and regulatory submissions
• Develop, review and implement company-wide policies and strengthen corporate governance structures and documentation
• Oversee the company secretarial function, including preparation for shareholder and board meetings and timely corporate filings
• Collaborate with Japanese legal teams and investors on due diligence, regulatory documentation and fundraising processes
• Train staff on compliance, policy adherence and legal awareness
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external legal counsel, regulators and government agencies

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized university
• Postgraduate Diploma in Law (Kenya School of Law)
• Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid Practising Certificate
• Minimum 5-7 years post-admission experience, preferably in corporate, commercial, regulatory or in-house roles
• Certified Company Secretary (ICPSK) is a nice-to-have qualification
