The Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC) is recruiting a Senior Legal Officer to provide legal advice, representation and regulatory support to the Council.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Represent the Council in court and manage prosecution and disciplinary matters
Draft legal instruments and contracts
Advise the Council on compliance and governance
Research complex legal issues and review legislation
Maintain case reports and registers

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience:

Honours LLB, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice and a valid annual practising certificate
At least five years of relevant legal experience
Experience in contract, governance, regulatory risk, dispute resolution and legislative drafting
A relevant master's degree or specialist legal training is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies:

Litigation and advocacy skills
Legal drafting and legislative review skills
Analytical research and sound legal judgement
Advising on compliance, governance and regulatory risk
Case management and meticulous record keeping
