• Ensure tax invoices, posting, debits, credits and policy documents for accepted business are done as per the agreed terms with the insured and intermediaries
• Process, issue and dispatch monthly renewal notices and follow through to confirmation
• Evaluate risks against the company risk appetite and accept business as per the reinsurance treaty and authority matrix
• Review and ensure outstanding bonds are cancelled when due
• Assist the Assistant Underwriting Manager in managing and training underwriting staff
• Issue policy documentation in adherence to all statutory and regulatory guidelines
• Ensure all business accepted is adequately reinsured at commencement of cover and that all policies are underwritten as per the reinsurance treaties
• Process quotations within the agreed turnaround time and maintain the quotations register
• Participate in the development of new bespoke products suitable for clients and competitive in the market

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or a related field
• Diploma in Insurance
• At least 4 years of experience in underwriting

• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
• Knowledge of market trends in insurance
• Ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
