Steward Attendant

• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans and trays manually or using dishwashing equipment
• Clean kitchen surfaces, walls, floors and equipment after meal preparation and service
• Sanitize food preparation and storage areas as per hygiene regulations
• Collect, segregate and dispose of kitchen waste in line with the university's environmental and safety guidelines
• Maintain clean and odor-free waste bins and disposal areas
• Assist kitchen staff in organizing and storing incoming food supplies and kitchen equipment
• Deliver clean kitchen tools and utensils to food preparation areas as needed
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, such as peeling or portioning
• Operate dishwashing machines and handle cleaning tools and chemicals safely
• Report any malfunctioning equipment or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly
• Follow food safety, hygiene and occupational health protocols at all times, using appropriate PPE
• Participate in routine cleaning and deep-cleaning schedules

Qualifications & Experience:

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role

• Ability to operate dishwashing equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely
• Team player with a willing, hands-on attitude
• Reliability and ability to follow food safety and occupational health protocols
